Your 2 day Sahara desert trip from Marrakech commences with an early morning pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech promptly at 8:30, after which you’ll embark on a journey southward toward the Zagora Desert. through the High Atlas Mountains.

The drive takes you scenic landscapes as you ascend the famous Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m. alt) passing through the High Atlas Mountains where you will see various Berber villages and herding animals along the route. We will be making a few stops along the way to enjoy the panoramic views, take pictures, and stretch our legs.

Continuing our journey, we will cross the Tizi-n-Tinfifte pass (1600 m. alt), another thrilling mountain route carved into the cliffside. With no guard rails, just sheer drops in some sections, you’ll want to have your camera ready to capture the sublime views.

Our journey will include a lunch stop in the town of Agdz, the first administrative center and the source of Draa valley. Back on the road, we’ll follow the winding Draa Valley and its river, an oasis with thousands of date palms, incredibly producing 44 different varieties of dates – a major date palm plantation and also the longest river in Morocco.

On the way, we’ll pass mountains, mud-brick Berber villages, and crumbling kasbahs that thrive in the otherwise inhospitable desert. We will arrive at the Zagora desert late in the afternoon. Get prepared to swap your car and travel by camels for an hour-long camel trek with an experienced camel guide. There, you will discover the magic of the desert.

Enjoy an uninterrupted Saharan desert sunset on top of a sand dune, before driving your camel back to your Zagora desert camp. For those seeking an adrenaline-filled alternative, an optional quad biking excursion across the dunes can also be arranged.

Rounding out this unforgettable experience, we’ll dine on a hearty dinner cooked over the campfire, along with Berber drums entertainment provided by your nomadic hosts under the open sky.
