4 Days Tour From Casablanca To Marrakech
Your 4-Day Tour from Casablanca to Marrakech begins with a pickup by your driver at 8 AM from your hotel or the airport or anywhere in Casablanca. First, you’ll take a sightseeing tour of Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco. We’ll visit the exterior of the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world.
We’ll then head to Rabat, the capital city, and visit Hassan Tower, an incomplete minaret from the 12th century. Nearby, you’ll explore the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a grand marble mausoleum honoring the late king and his sons.
After a traditional Moroccan lunch in Rabat, we’ll depart for Fes. Dinner and overnight stay in a traditional Riad within Medina.
After breakfast in your Riad in Fes, we hit the road, heading towards the Merzouga Desert. Our first stop is Ifrane, a town known as the “Little Switzerland of Morocco.” It has a unique European style with red-roofed houses and a Swiss alpine ambiance.
Leaving Ifrane, we drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping at the Azrou Cedar Forest. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to observe the rare and protected Barbary macaques, a species of monkeys indigenous to this region.
Midway through our journey, we’ll grab a bite at a local restaurant. Afterward, we continue our drive through the scenic Tizi N Telghemt pass and along the lush Ziz Valley, a verdant oasis dotted with date palm groves and small villages.
Finally, we arrive in Merzouga, a town on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Here your experienced camel guides and their camels will be waiting to escort you on an unforgettable trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. On the way to the camp, we’ll pause atop a high dune to witness the breathtaking sunset. Then carry on the ride.
Once you reach your desert camp, the hospitable Berber staff will greet you with a traditional cup of mint tea and get you settled in your tent. Dinner will be served around the campfire, where you can engage in captivating conversations with the Berbers, listen to their traditional music, gaze up at the starry night sky, and sleep under a nomadic tent. It’s an authentic taste of nomadic desert life.
Continuing our 4 Days Casablanca Desert Tour, start your day early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast and shower at your desert camp, you’ll ride the camels or transfer by 4×4 vehicle to the original starter location in Merzouga town and meet your driver.
Then continue your Casablanca to Marrakech desert tour. If it’s a market day (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday) we’ll make a stop in the town of Rissani to check out their lively Moroccan souk (outdoor market). Next is a drive to Tinghir, making a brief stop along the way to take in panoramic views of palm groves and traditional Berber villages dotting the valleys below.
We’ll then reach Todra Gorge, a 300-meter canyon carved through the limestone rock by the Todra and Dades rivers. Take a walk along the canyon floor down a narrow path with the towering cliffs above you. You’ll break for lunch here.
After lunch, continue to Dades Gorge and Valley, known as “The Road of 1000 Kasbahs” for the numerous fortified villages perched along the route. We will walk through Monkey Toes, a section where the canyon narrows between jagged rock columns that resemble primate feet.
Other sights we will see include the Cinemas, vertical erosion ridges resembling rows of theater seating, and Damien’s Gorge sculptures. This entire region was underwater 100 million years ago, with the rock layers formed from marine sediments over millennia. We will end our day in Dades Gorge, and check into your accommodation for the night.
After a delightful breakfast, day four of your 4 Days trip from Casablanca kicks off with a drive to Ouarzazate, passing through Kalaat M’Gouna, famous for its rose gardens and annual Rose Festival celebrating the region’s rose water and rose oil production.
In Ouarzazate, we’ll visit the Atlas Studios (optional), one of the largest film studios in the world. Hollywood blockbusters and TV shows like Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia were filmed on these massive outdoor sets.
Next, we’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, an ancient fortified village dating back in the 17th century when it was a stop for caravans traveling across the Sahara desert. Famous Hollywood blockbusters and TV shows have also been shot in this spectacular place. Free time for lunch.
After the Kasbah, we’ll drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, one of the highest paved roads in Morocco at an elevation of over 2260 meters (7415 ft). The winding mountain roads offer stunning views of valleys, villages, and rocky peaks.
Along the way, we’ll stop for photos and to stretch our legs. You may even interact with locals living in remote Berber villages dotting the mountainsides. Our Casablanca to Marrakech tours will conclude with a drop-off at your hotel/Riad in Marrakech, the “Red City”.
