7 Days Tour From Casablanca To Marrakech

Day 1 : Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouene

Our driver will pick you up from your accommodation or the airport, and start driving to Chefchaouen. Our exploration starts with Casablanca, the economic center of Morocco. We will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, especially its location above the Atlantic Ocean.

The tour continues to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. You will visit the Highlights of this beautiful city including the Hassan Tower, an incomplete mosque from the 12th century. The tower’s minaret is the only part that was finished. 

Next to it is the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. This is where the late King Mohammed V and his two sons are buried.  After that, we’ll go to the 11th-century fort- the Oudayas Kasbah. Then free time for lunch.

By afternoon, we’ll continue driving north to reach Chefchaouen. This town is located in the Rif Mountains and is known for its blue-painted buildings and houses. Finally, we’ll check into a riad for the night.

Day 2 : Free Day to Explore Chefchaouen

On the second day of your 7 Days from Casablanca to Marrakech, after breakfast at the hotel, we’ll have a full-day tour around the blue-painted alleys of Chefchaouen.

Our first stop is the Stalk, a square in the Medina (old town) where locals gather. You’ll see street vendors selling goods and get a feel for the city’s energy. Next, we’ll go to the Akshour Falls outside of town. Then we’ll explore the Kasbah Ethnographic Museum, housed within a restored 15th-century kasbah (fortified palace). 

After that, we’ll head to the Utah Lhmam Square in Medina. Our last stop is the photogenic Al-Swaiqa District, an area of narrow blue-painted streets and alleys. We’ll end the day back at our traditional Riad.

Day 3 : Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes

After breakfast, we’ll depart Chefchaouen and head towards the imperial city of Fes, stopping at a few places along the way. First, you will have a guided tour of the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned as Morocco’s most significant Roman remnant dating back to AD 24-285. You’ll see things like mosaics, and the Basilica, which give you an idea of what life was like in this Roman city.

Next, we’ll go to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. In Meknes, we’ll visit the Bab Mansour gate, which was the main entrance to the city in the 17th century. You’ll also have the chance to visit the granary and the Sahrij Souani, an underground reservoir that supplied water to Meknes and the royal gardens.

Your visit also includes The sumptuously decorated Mulay Ismail Mausoleum, the tomb of the Sultan who made Meknes an imperial city. At the end of this exciting day, you will be driven to Fes for the night in a fancy riad riad/hotel.

Day 4 : Fes Sightseeing tour with a local guide

Today after breakfast in your Riad, set out on an exciting full-day tour with a local guide to explore the spiritual capital of Morocco, Fes. As you walk through the crowded souks, alleys, and historic sites, you’ll be amazed by how unique this place is.

Following this, we will walk to explore the Al-Karaouine Mosque and University, founded in 859 AD, making it one of the oldest universities in the world. Next is the Madrasa Bouanania then the Tanneries see the traditional leather-making process that’s been used for centuries. 

After lunch, you’ll go outside the Medina to see the Royal Palace gate. Then continue to the historic Jewish quarter also known as “the Mellah”, where you can explore and learn about the fascinating history and culture of the Jewish community in Fes.

End your day by stopping at an old fortress to take in the panoramic views overlooking the Medina and Fes City from up high, then head back to your riad.

Day 5 : Fes → Ifrane → Azrou → Midelt → Erfoud → Merzouga

After breakfast, we’ll depart Fes and head south towards the Merzouga desert. Our first stop is Ifrane, a resort town known for its Alpine-style architecture and pleasant climate. Take a short stroll to admire the Swiss-inspired chalets and enjoy the cool mountain air. 

We’ll then pass through Azrou and visit the cedar forest, home to the Barbary apes, a type of monkey native to the region. Feel free to feed them while wandering in the forest. Lunch will be in Midelt before journeying along the spectacular Ziz Valley, making stops for panoramic views of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas Mountains along the way. 

Then drive through the Berber villages of Erfoud and Rissani. In the afternoon, we reach the Sahara Desert of Merzouga, where you’ll have the opportunity to ride camels and witness the breathtaking sunset over the highest dunes of Erg Chebbi. Finally, continue to the camp. 

Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner served by our Berber hosts. Local nomads will entertain you with traditional drum music and dancing around the campfire. Spend the night under the stars in a comfortable nomad tent.

Day 6 : Sahara Desert → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley

Your camel guide will wake you up early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, you’ll begin a camel trek or hop into a 4×4 vehicle to make your way back to the departure point in the town of Merzouga.

Upon meeting your driver, you’ll depart for Tinghir and the famous Todra Gorges– the highest (300 meters) and narrowest gorges in Morocco- undoubtedly one of the most spectacular natural attractions that Morocco has to offer.  You’ll have the opportunity to hike along the valley floor, taking in the stunning views of the Todra River and the Dades River. Free time for lunch in a restaurant.

Then we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, also known as the “Valley of Castles.” Along the way, you’ll witness ancient kasbahs (castles) that resemble massive sand castles and the “Monkey Fingers,” unique rock pillars formed by erosion over millions of years. Overnight in a Hotel/Riad overlooking the Dades Valley.

Day 7 : Dades Valley → Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah → Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll depart the Dades Valley and drive towards Marrakech. The scenic route offers numerous photo opportunities along the way. Our first stop is Kalaat M’Gouna, “the rose city” famous for cultivating roses and producing rose products like rose water and rose oil. You can observe the distillation process and purchase authentic rose products directly from local cooperatives.

The 7-day desert tour from Casablanca continues to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa.” We can visit Atlas Studios, the largest film studio in Morocco. Lunch will be at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. This fortified village has been featured in many films like Laurence of Arabia and The Mummy. 

After lunch, our journey continues through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, a scenic mountain road that winds through the High Atlas Mountains, reaching an elevation of 2,260 meters. We’ll arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, dropping you off at your accommodation marking the end of your 7 Days Tour from Casablanca.
